Should I Go To Rehab?

Congratulations on asking yourself this question, thus taking your first step to recovery. Deciding on whether or not to go to rehab is never an easy choice, and your plight is well understood. Many people feel like they do not help and continue using for years until it is too late. It is hard to kick your habit without any help. Choosing to go to rehab is not a choice that you should be ashamed of, but rather a choice you can and should be proud of. It takes a brave individual to be able to say that you need help.

A rehab center might seem like a scary idea, but rest assured the people working at such centers know that and will work with you to make the transition comfortable. They will talk and walk through any questions you may have. Rehab centers have professional help, medical care and supportive, comfortable environments that will help you kick your habit. You will not have to be alone at any point during your quest to sobriety.

Before you think about rehab though, you will need to ask yourself questions to figure out if you really need to go, and I have compiled some of those questions into this article to help you make your decision.

  1. “Is my usage increasing?” – If you are requiring more and more drugs or alcohol to reach your high, this means that your downward spiral has begun. This is a clear sign that you need to get help, and you should do so before it gets worse and it becomes harder to get help.
  2. “Do I have withdrawals?” – If you are having the shakes or pains after you have been without your drug of choice for a while, then you may need to get some help. Your body is having a hard time living without it, which is another clear sign of you arriving into bigger trouble.
  3. “Am I living my life?” – If you are no longer interested in things you used to be interested in or if you feel like you are being disconnected from your friends and/or family, this may signal that your usage is beginning to wear down on your social and emotional life, which is the beginning of a damaged life.
  4. “Can I stop after just a little?” – Are you finding it hard to stop after just one or two drinks, or just a hit of your drug of choice? Do you end up downing the whole bottle and not remembering the night before? This should be a sign that something is not right, and you should find some help.
  5. “Am I acting different from before?” – Did you use to be a nice and friendly person but now find yourself snapping at people and being very defensive over things that you wouldn’t before? Do you feel like everyone is out to get you or that everyone is judging you? This is a clear sign, and not just to you, but to other people that you have a problem and should signal you to get some help.
  6. “Am I moving up the ladder?” – Are you finding yourself moving on to harder, more dangerous drugs? Do you find yourself using other substances to mask the effects of others? Answering yes to any of these questions should mean a yes to your rehab question.

Kicking your habit will be a long, hard road, but you will come out of it a new person and you will know that it was worth it.

Why Rehab Is Important For Before Neuromuscular Disorders Is Diagnosed

Lower extremity weakness is a health complication that can be acute or chronic in nature. In either case, when one experiences lower extremity weakness, it is important to seek out medical attention immediately to determine if the complication is related to a more severe, and progressive, disease.

For individuals who suffer from neuromuscular diseases, the underlying complication is associated with a miscommunication between the neuromuscular junction, and neurons, and the muscles themselves. In many cases, and because there are so many variations, diagnosing lower extremity weakness can be challenging.

If you are suffering from lower extremity weakness, your doctor will need to run a variety of tests ranging from nerve conduction studies to blood work to even CT scan and MRIs. Because these tests all take time to conduct and provide results, there may be many days, even weeks, that you are continuing to suffer from lower extremity weakness complications without knowing what the underlying culprit may be.

When seeking out medical attention for this condition, therefore, it is important to ask your doctor about immediate access to physical therapy and rehabilitation services. Even before your diagnosis is confirmed, you should be able to begin rehabilitation services in an effort to reduce the level and degree of lower extremity weakness you may be experiencing.

A complication that is common among those with lower extremity weakness is a complication known as disuse atrophy. When the lower extremities are not being used, the musculature of the lower legs may begin to change in size and appearance which will lead to even greater complications when attempting to minimize weakness and restore function. It is for this reason that patients with lower extremity weakness start rehab services immediately, if for no other reason than to reduce disuse atrophy complications.

Complications of the lower legs are not uncommon and occur in everyday occurrences. When you have lower extremity weakness, however, the health matter needs to be addressed so as to avoid long term health complications and decreased mobility. Be sure, therefore, that if you are asking your doctor about diagnosing your condition, that you also inquire about the use of rehab or physical therapy, even before your true health condition is determined.

Britney Spears Rehab More Of A Luxury Hotel

The rehabilitation center that Britney Spears has been staying in is more of a luxury hotel than a get-better center. Spears has recently checked herself into the Promises treatment center. She felt that it was time to receive professional help for her hard partying ways. The Promises treatment center accepts those who are either celebrities or business executives.

Visitors to Promises happen to be of a more affluent background. The price of staying at the facility is only affordable by those who are wealthy. You need to pay $48,000 for 30 days to enter the treatment center. As you can tell, the only people who can really afford a rehabilitation center like Promises are mainly celebrities. For nearly a decade, Promises has served mainly celebrities. Some of the alumni of the center include Ben Affleck, Charlie Sheen, Dianna Ross, and even Matthew Perry.

Britney Spears has basically checked herself into luxury hotel. She is most likely partaking in one of the facilities unique amenities. Spears could be currently enjoying one of the facility's gourmet meals. She also has access to several personal trainers to keep her in shape. There are also horseback riding lessons and massages made available. On top of that, Spears will also have her own private room. The bedroom features 500-thread-count sheets, a fireplace, and a view of the beach.

Most facilities require an individual to share a room with other patients. You are also required to help out around the facility with chores. Spears is not required to do either of those. She also is entitled to private counseling lessons. This defeats the purpose of being exposed to others who share the same problems. Most rehabs have group oriented sessions in which Spears would of interacted with people from different lifestyles, with the same problems. There really is no reason for Spears to leave rehab. It appears to just be an extended vacation.

Britney Spears Returns To Rehab… Again

MALIBU-If the last one was a case of "baby one more time", maybe this is a case of "oops, I did it again." Long-troubled pop princess Britney Spears reportedly returned to the Promises treatment and rehabilitation center on Wednesday night, this time with her mother, Lynne Spears, in tow; Britney's mother has long been an advocate of her daughter getting help, for the sake of her children with estranged husband Kevin Federline.

This is the third time in two weeks Spears has entered rehab; her previous two stints lasted only a day apiece, and were separated by nighttime parties and carousing and a memorable self-performed head shave at a salon in Tarzana.

But this time, information has come to light about the fate of Spears' children, Sean Preston (age one) and Jayden James (age five months); Federline will watch the children while Spears undergoes rehabilitation, a program slated to take between thirty and forty-five days-though Britney's schedule as of late allows for skepticism that she will complete that term of service.

Previously, Federline had called for an emergency family law court session, presumably in order to get control of his children, though details were never made public. Federline has already attempted to get sole custody of, and spousal support for, the children, but joint custody rules are active through February.

The newly bald songstress will of course not be attending any hearing, which Federline's lawyer has cancelled without explanation, possibly in response to Britney's return to rehab; some skeptical commentators believe that Spears is deliberately faking attempts to deal with her oncoming nervous breakdown by flitting in and out of rehab in order to delay court proceedings and keep her children.

Federline and Spears' family and management have expressed their desires to maintain Spears' privacy and to focus energy on helping her through this difficult time. Spears is "a sick little girl," according to her father's statement to Fox News.

While court appearances are postponed for the moment, the court of public opinion is not on Spears' side; her twice-turned escape from rehab for a party lifestyle has not gone unnoticed, and it is unlikely that her tearful head-shaving episode will soon be forgotten. While many speculate pessimistically on the future of her children, others hope she will make it through all right; late-night talk show host Craig Ferguson delivered an emotional monologue about his own dark times and said he would not joke about the starlet.

Still, it is hard not to wonder if Spears will actually stay in rehab this time.

VH1s Celebrity Rehab Postponed Not Enough Celebrity Drunks

Stars refuse to appear on VH1 Celebrity Rehab. Maybe celebrities are tired of sharing every intimate detail of their life with the public. God knows there isn't a shortage of celebrities who need rehab. The show is having a hard time getting B and C list celebrities, much less A list celebs. According to behind the scene reports, Celebrity Rehab tried to get Lindsay Lohan and Heather Locklear on the show, but they quickly shot it down. Sources say producers offered Lindsay Lohan $1 million and her own show, if she would appear on Celebrity Rehab. She still refused.

The show was able to get tentative commitments from D and F list celebrities, but the network rejected them. VH1 rejecting celebrities? I guess h#ll has frozen over.

Model Tila Tequila and Laguna Beach Jason Wahler signed up for Celebrity Rehab, but the roaster still has a big hole. Ratings for the show will be low featuring these two celebs. Most people don't know who they are….me included. I had to look them up to find their claim to fame. Seriously, I thought Tila Tequila was a drink, silly me.

Everyone knows Celebrity Rehab producers need a headliner, but none are willing to step forward. Then again, the last season of VH1's Celebrity Rehab didn't give a good impression. Drunks and junkies are expected to cause conflict because they are going through withdrawals. However, Heidi Fleiss, Kari Ann Peniche, Tom Sizemore, and Mike Starr gave new meaning to the word dysfunctional. Kari Ann's antics actually got a staff member fired. If season 3 of Celebrity Rehab wasn't enough, the producers had the nerve to film the second season of Sober House with Dr. Drew with almost the same cast. Yes, recovering alcoholics, sex addicts, and drug addicts do crazy things while detoxing, but dang! In Sober House, the celebrities acted like they were still high. I guess the coming down phase is more difficult for them because they are celebrities. They are use to getting what they want and their own way. When someone tells them no and mean it, they get a bit nasty….drunk or sober.

After witnessing the last season of Celebrity Rehab and Sober House what celebrity with a brain cell left would want to submit themselves to more dysfunction than what they are already going through. A, B, and even C list celebs can afford private treatment without all the extra drama. Plus, they can keep their recovery process private. Can't say that I blame the celebs who refuse to go on VH1 Celebrity Rehab.
